The sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home has not yet been officially announced by Sony Pictures.
But its realization is now taken for granted: at least, this is what we can derive from the statements of Tom Rothman – president of the studio – at The Hollywood Reporters .
Rothman was asked if the film is in Sony ‘s plans , and this was his answer:
You bet on it. When you can expect it, I don’t know. You don’t serve wine ahead of time.
Although it is being developed together with Marvel Studios , and is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe , the task of announcing it will be Sony , holder of the film rights to Spider-Man . Tom Holland is expected to return, and make further appearances in the MCU (presumably in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars ). Obviously nothing is certain yet, they are just rumors.
There were also rumors of a possible release of the film in 2024, but this too is an unconfirmed indiscretion. Moreover, Kevin Feige had declared that characters like Spidey and Daredevil would have been the most earthly and metropolitan soul of the MCU : it is therefore possible that sooner or later we will see them together, but it is still too early to say for sure.
For the moment, we only know that the Venom symbiote – or at least a fragment of it – is on the loose, and that Peter Parker has begun a new solitary life: no one knows his secret identity anymore, MJ and Ned don’t remember him. , and the hero can only count on his own strength (no more Stark – branded gadgets or hyper-technological costumes).

The cast of Spider-Man: No Way Home
In the cast we find Tom Holland ( Peter Parker / Spider-Man ), Marisa Tomei ( Aunt May ), Zendaya ( MJ ), Jacob Batalon ( Ned Leeds ), Tony Revolori ( Flash Thompson ) and also Angourie Rice ( Betty ). Benedict Cumberbatch will be Doctor Strange .
In the multiverse
The film brings back several well-known faces. There are Electro ( Jamie Foxx ), Doctor Octopus ( Alfred Molina ), Goblin ( Willem Dafoe ), Sandman ( Thomas Haden Church ) and the Lizard ( Rhys Ifans ) and the Spider-Man of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield . Doctor Strange ( Benedict Cumberbatch ) is also there , while Matt Murdock ( Charlie Cox ) makes a cameo. Arian Moayed also stars .
The screenplay
The script for the film is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers .
Direction
After Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home , the direction is again by Jon Watts .
