In addition to dedicating the covers to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse , Empire has also released a new image that shows one of the parallel realities of the film.
Gwen Stacy ( Hailee Steinfeld ), Miles Morales ( Shameik Moore ) and Pavitr Prabhakar ( Karan Soni ) take on the Blur ( Jason Schwartzman ) in Mumbattan, a metropolis that draws inspiration from Mumbai and Manhattan. It is the hometown of the aforementioned Pavitr , aka Spider-Man India . “Every world is a solid place,” said Joaquim Dos Santos , who co-directed the film with Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson . “Basically, we made five films in one.”
We will therefore see five different worlds… but which ones? Four were revealed: Gwen ‘s Earth-65 , with her signature watercolor palette; Miguel O’Hara ‘s futuristic New York / Spider-Man 2099 ( Oscar Isaac ); Spider-Punk ‘s New London ( Daniel Kaluuya ); and the aforementioned Mumbai. The fifth is still under wraps, but screenwriter Phil Lord said: “It hits hard, I promise. The images will be stunning.”
In short, this sequel promises great things, and Shameik Moore increases the dose:
I will say this story surpasses the first [movie]. If last time the sky was the limit, now the sky is the floor. We’ll get on top of it and aim for Jupiter!
The release is expected for June 1 in Italian cinemas. The story will continue later in the third installment of the saga, Beyond the Spider-Verse . You can see the image below.
