SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME PRESALES BEAT AVENGERS: ENDGAME

The debut of Spider-Man: No Way Home in North American theaters promises to be a panacea for the sector after a year that would be hard to define.

The film, according to Fandango data, has already beaten the pre-sales of Avengers: Endgame in its first day. As we know, Endgame ended up recording the biggest domestic debut day in history, with $ 357.1 million.

The presales of Spider-Man: No Way Home have also made a clean sweep of the previous record of 2021, that of Black Widow . In just two hours, for more. Presales are higher than many pre-Covid titles: Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker .

Rick Roman , a Kentucky exhibitor, said:

I haven’t seen such a thing since Star Wars: The Force Awakens . Once the tickets went on sale, they took off. I have added more screens. Thanks Sony.

At this point, the film is very likely to debut well over $ 100 million, making it one of the five best December debuts of all time. A remarkable undertaking, given the era in which we live.

A few numbers

Spider-Man: No Way Home has sold around 3 million tickets, for a total of over $ 35 million. Eternals and Black Widow  had sold around 150,000 tickets in 24 hours. The presale of No Way Home in the first 24 hours they also beat the presales in the first 24 in all of 2021 combined titles at least three times. Stop for a moment and read this sentence again.

Also, those 35 million in 24 hours are even more impressive when we think that Black Widow , now the second best result of 2021 in terms of presales, sold tickets for 30 million ALL, that is, until presales close. Those of No Way Home are still for sale.

Finally, we would like to point out that the previews on Thursday 16 December (the film in the USA will be released on the 17th) already travel around 17 million dollars.
