The storyline of Star Trek: Lower Decks
The animated comedy series Star Trek: Lower Decks follows the support crew on one of Starfleet’s lesser ships, the USS Cerritos, in 2380. As the ship is shaken by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies, the protagonists try to keep the I keep up with their duties and their social lives.
The trailer reveals that the Cerritos crew will travel to a place well known to fans of the saga, the Deep Space Nine space station.
The vocal cast of Star Trek: Lower Decks includes Jack Quaid ( The Boys ) as Brad Boimler, Tawny Newsome as Beckett Mariner, Noël Wells as D’Vana Tendi and Eugene Cordero as Samanthan Rutherford. With them Jerry O’Connell in the role of Commander Jack Ransom, Gillian Vigman in the role of Doctor T’Ana and Dawnn Lewis in that of Captain Carol Freeman.
The series is produced by Eye Animation Productions, the animation division of CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz and Heather Kadin are executive producers along with Mike McMahan. The animations are the work of the Titmouse studio.
