Starlink prices in Peru

Starlink is a service for which you only need a receiving antenna to install at home.

To obtain a unit, you must pay 1750 soles. This will work anywhere in the country, despite its geography.

After this payment, the user must pay 210 soles per month.

Satellite internet speeds range from 100 to 339 Mbps download, with uploads up to 60 Mbps.

The service is characterized by delivering a low latency that, according to tests, is around 19ms.

What is Starlink?

Starlink is an internet project that will work with a constellation of SpaceX low-orbit satellites.

The purpose of the mission is to connect the whole world to the Internet, especially those users who, due to the geography of the city where they live, cannot access local services. Its operation only requires a capture antenna and modem for inside the home or business.

Approximately 3 million people living in remote communities in Peru lack internet access. These rural areas are difficult for fiber optic cable internet providers to serve.

In the country,  the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has given it the concession to operate in the country for 20 years .

During the first quarter of this year, SpaceX aims to connect: Ecuador, Panama and Colombia. As SpaceX launches more satellites into orbit, internet service could expand by 2024 to: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Chile was the first country in the region to connect to Starlink in September 2021 .
