Riccardo Scamarcio , Daniel Brühl and Volker Bruch ( Babylon Berlin ) in 2 Win , a racing film inspired by the rivalry between Germany and Italy during the 1983 .
World Rally Championship, directed by Stefano Mordini ( The Catholic School ).
Filippo Bologna ( Perfect strangers ), Mordini and Scamarcio wrote the subject. For the latter two, who have already collaborated several times (for example in Pericles the Black, The Infidels, The Invisible Witness ), 2 Win will be the first English-language film together.
At the heart of 2 Win will be the German and Italian teams competing in the 1983 rally championship. On the one hand Roland Gumpert (Brühl) and his Audi team. On the other Cesare Fiorio (Scamarcio), head of the Lancia team, given for defeat. But Fiorio intends to win, and to do so he puts together an unusual team, including a doctor and nutritionist who will have to keep Fiorio’s bravado at bay. The stroke of luck comes when Fiorio manages to hire Walter Röhrl (Bruch) as a driver. The problem is that Röhrl only intends to compete in races that he likes.
2 Win will be produced by Lebowski and co-produced by Recorded Picture Company and Metropolitan Films. Jeremy Thomas will produce alongside Scamarcio. Rai will distribute in our country. Filming will take place between Italy and Greece and will start in mid-May. The project will be presented at the Cannes Film Festival market.
