Exactly one year ago it was announced that Billy Summers , Stephen King ‘s novel , would become a series produced by JJ Abrams ‘ Bad Robot .
Some time has passed and that project has now become a film, which will also see the involvement of Leonardo DiCaprio as a producer, through his Appian Way.
Abrams and DiCaprio will also participate as director and star of the film? The thing is not to be excluded but for the moment there are no confirmations. As always, we will keep you updated on any developments.
The Billy Summers storyline
The novel, published in Italy by Sperling & Kupfer last year, revolves around Billy Summers, a hitman who, before retiring, takes one last job that will pay very well. To complete the assignment he will have to settle down in a quiet town and pretend to be an aspiring writer. Billy rents an office whose window overlooks the courthouse where the killer Joel Allen will be tried for having murdered two people during a poker game. Allen has also committed several murders for gang bosses, and they want to make sure he doesn’t name anyone to get his sentence reduced. Billy, a meticulous professional, becomes increasingly cynical about the bosses who hired him, and his skepticism is not misplaced, as after he completes the job, things take a turn for the worse for him.
