The three Chinese astronauts must finish the construction of Tiangong , their own space station with which they will investigate the universe.
The Shenzhou-14 spacecraft was propelled by a Long March 2F rocket , which took off at 10:44 local time (0244 GMT) from the Jiuquan launch center in northwest China’s Gobi desert.
A quarter of an hour later, an official from the space agency in charge of human spaceflight ( CMSA ) announced the “success” of the launch.
After about “seven hours of flight”, the spacecraft docked with the space station, CCTV explained.
The three taikonauts, including a woman, take over from the crew of the Shenzhou-13 mission, which returned to Earth in mid-April after spending a semester on the space station.
