Elon Musk wants Tesla to expand beyond its cars and make its Autopilot licenses compatible with other companies.
Elon Musk has expressed his desire to bring autopilot of his Tesla cars to other companies.
Through a tweet, the tycoon stated that he wants to license Autopilot and even the complete system to other companies, thus generating extra income for his coffers.

According to Musk, Tesla ‘s software prowess could become “more useful than possible if it reaches other auto companies.”
The billionaire assures that, in previous years, he has already freely shared patents for other companies, so “I would be happy to license Autopilot / FSD (Full Self-Driving).”
These statements come amid an agreement between the company and Ford to open its electric charging network for their cars, in order to cooperate together throughout the world.
Elon Musk ‘s goal is for Tesla to “help accelerate the world toward sustainable energy,” even if it means “helping your rival.”

In that year, he shared a writing called “All our patents belong to you,” where he noted that “we believe that applying the open source philosophy to our patents will strengthen rather than diminish Tesla’s position in this regard . “
Autopilot is far from perfect and has even caused accidentson tracks in the United States and Europe . The promotional images of the companies led to believe that the car could already drive itself, but it still needs assistance and the necessary attention from drivers.
