The Daily Mail has released the first photos from the set of The Acolyte , which began shooting on November 7 at Shinfield Studios in the UK.

The shots portray Lee Jung-jae and Dean-Charles Chapman in Jedi clothes, the latter with the ponytail of the Padawan students. Daphne Keen is visible shouldering a weapon, and she sports a two-tone wig. There is also a Wookie with a bun and a tunic, and other actresses in stage clothes: note the one with the horns typical of the Zabrak, the same species to which Darth Maul belongs , originally from the planet Iridonia.

The series is set during the High Republic, a century before the events of Star Wars – Episode I : an era of great splendor for the galaxy far, far away, when the Jedi were at the height of their power. It will be precisely in this era that the threat of the Sith will re-emerge, who will find a way to infiltrate the Jedi, as Dafne Keen herself recently said . Apparently, Lee Jung-jae will play a Jedi master who is reunited with his old Padawan ( Amandla Stenberg ) to investigate a series of crimes.

Showrunner Leslye Headland explained that the plot will revolve around “political, personal and spiritual issues that occur in an era that we don’t know much about” . It seems that Kate Herron (director of Loki ) is involved in the show, but there are no official confirmations about it. The Acolyte will of course be released on Disney+ .

Some photos are visible in the tweet below, while here you will find them all.
