THE BATMAN: PART II, THE FILMING SLIP TO 2024?

An indiscretion published by Midgard Times , a potential new source of scoop, is making the rounds on the net :

it seems that the start of filming on The Batman: Part II will be postponed by about four months, from November/December 2023 to March 2024.

The postponement – assuming it is confirmed – would be due to the writers’ strike . Both Matt Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin are obviously on the Writers Guild of America , and writing can’t continue during the turmoil. The production of the spin-off The Penguin , a series that will be released on the Max platform , has also been paused.

However, this delay should not affect the release date, which will remain set for October 3, 2025 . Reeves and his team will have plenty of time to complete filming and post-production by then.

We don’t know anything about the plot, but some rumors in recent months claim that Clayface will be among the antagonists . Either way, it looks like the Penguin ( Colin Farrell ), Catwoman ( Zöe Kravitz ), and the Joker ( Barry Keoghan ) will be back. As we know, the films and series of this saga are not part of the DC Universe , but of the Elseworlds label , which includes projects parallel to the main universe.

We will keep you posted.
