The always prolific Guy Ritchie is directing a war film for the first time: it’s called The Covenant , and MGM has unveiled the official trailer.
Jake Gyllenhaal is Sergeant John Kinley , accompanied by interpreter Ahmed ( Dar Salim ) during a mission in Afghanistan. When John is ambushed, it is Ahmed who saves him, keeping him alive during the long journey back to camp. Soon, however, it will be up to the American to intervene to return his favor.
Guy Ritchie wrote the film – previously titled The Interpreter – starring Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies . The release is expected for April 21 in US theaters.
