Season 6 of The Expanse will be the third released by Amazon after Syfy’s cancellation. The cast includes Dominique Tipper (Naomi Nagata), Steven Strait (James Holden), Wes Chatham (Amos Burton), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Chrisjen Avasarala), Frankie Adams (Bobbie Draper), Nadine Nicole (Clarissa Mao) and Cara Gee (Camina Drummer ). Naren Shankar is the showrunner of the series. Here is the official synopsis:
Holden and the Rocinante crew fight side by side with the combined fleet of Earth and Mars to protect the inner planets from Marco Inaros and his Free Navy’s campaign of death and destruction. Meanwhile, on a distant planet beyond the Rings, a new power emerges.
Only six episodes, but a big ending
The sixth season will consist of just six episodes. The first and sixth were shot together, and the sixth will be longer than the series average: 65 minutes. Shankar said:
We have always known we wanted to finish big. A lot of things happen in that episode. And, by shooting it soon, we got to complete all the visual effects well.
