The official title of the Slam Dunk animated feature was unveiled today by the film’s official account: The First Slam Dunk and will be released in Japanese theaters on December 3 .

In addition, the first poster portraying Ryota Miyagi, number 7, was published.

The five character posters depicting the other four Shohoku players were exhibited in the Japanese cinemas: Hanamichi Sakuragi, Kaede Rukawa, Takenori Akagi and Hisashi Mitsui.

The trailer
It was also announced that on July 7 at 7p.m. (JPT) at 12p.m. (in Italy) the first trailer will be broadcast. Producer Hiromi Seki told us the trailer would launch online a month before the film’s theatrical release, so we’re wondering if this will be a simple teaser.
The Story of Slam Dunk
On May 20, 2021 Planet Manga (Panini Comics) concluded the publication of the shinsou saihenban edition of the manga of Slam Dunk , by Inoue Takehiko, consisting of 20 numbers.
Hanamichi Sakuragi, imposing physique, bright red hair, fame as a hooligan and a sad record in the sentimental field: during the middle school he was in fact dumped by as many as 50 girls!
A bad resume with which to land at Shohoku high school, but fate has the face of the beautiful Haruko and she is about to ask him a fateful question: “Do you like basketball?”.
The staff
Inoue Takehiko directs the film and is the author of the screenplay. The character designer and animation director is Yasuyuki Ebara (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress).
The technical directors are: Katsuhiko Kitada (Attack on Titan episodes, Major: Yūjō no Winning Shot), Naoki Miyahara (Digimon Adventure, Popin Q), Toshio Ōhashi (LayereD Stories 0), Fumihiko Suganuma (episode director Shirobako) and Yū Kamatani ( Looking for Magical DoReMi, Precure Super Stars!).
The sound director is Yota Tsuruoka .
The film, animated by Toei Animation (the same studio that made the animated series in 1993) and by DandeLion Animation Studio , will be released in Japan from December 3 .
