One of the most anticipated films related to the DC universe is definitely The Flash.
It arriving in our theaters on June 14th.
We recently saw the first trailerhowever very little is still known about this film, especially as regards the superheroes that, in one way or another, we will see in action. We know for sure, for example, that there will be both Michael Keaton ‘s and Ben Affleck ‘s Batman . But they may not be alone.
According to some recent rumors, in fact, in the film we will also find another Batman, specifically the one that we can very well define as the most hated by fans: the Bat Man played by George Clooney in Joel Schumacher ‘s Batman & Robin (to whom we dedicated a episode of our podcast ). To give the news, which obviously has not been confirmed, were Nick Mason and James Clement of the podcast The Weekly Planet . According to a person who worked on the set during re-shoots, Clooney allegedly shot a small scene with the protagonist Ezra Miller
, which will most likely be inserted into the film as post or mid-credits.
There is also a description of this short snippet:
Barry Allen approaches Bruce Wayne, who we see from behind. The moment we turn around we learn that it’s not Michael Keaton but George Clooney, this means that at the end of the film The Flash could have ended up in the Batman & Robin universe.
Will it really be like this? We’ll find out next June…
In “The Flash” the worlds will collide when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time, and change the events of the past. When trying to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry is trapped in a reality where General Zod returns to threaten destruction, and with no Super Hero to turn to…unless Barry can convince a decidedly different Batman to return to the field to rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian…despite not being the one he’s looking for anymore. Ultimately, to save the world he’s in and return to the future he knows, Barry’s only hope is to run for his life. But will this ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?
Director and cast
The screenplay is by Christina Hodson ( Bumblebee , Birds of Prey ), while the direction is handled by Andrés Muschietti ( La Madre, IT ). The cast includes Ezra Miller ( Barry Allen / Flash ), Kiersey Clemons ( Iris West , historic romantic interest of Barry ), Maribel Verdú ( Nora Allen , mother of Barry ), Michael Keaton ( Tim Burton ‘s Batman ), Ben Affleck (the Batman byZack Snyder ), Sasha Calle ( Supergirl ), Ron Livingston ( Henry Allen ), Saoirse-Monica Jackson , Rudy Mancuso and Ian Loh ( Barry child). Michael Shannon returns as Zod.
Flashpoints
The film is inspired by Flashpoint . In the comics, Barry Allen goes back in time to prevent the murder of his mother Nora , and distorts the timeline of the DC universe , finding himself in a very different present: in this timeline , he never became the Flash and Earth lives a deep crisis situation, also because many superheroes are no longer superheroes; Wonder Woman and the Amazons, for example, have conquered the United Kingdom, while Aquaman has devastated Western Europe with a tidal wave to annex it to his rule. Batman exists, but behind his mask is Thomas Wayne, not his son Bruce , who was killed during the infamous robbery.
A troubled project
Seth Grahame-Smith , Rick Famuyiwa and the duo of Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley took turns directing the project , before coming to Muschietti .
Flash to the cinema
Meanwhile, Ezra Miller played the Scarlet Sprinter in Justice League . However, Barry Allen ‘s film debut took place in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , where he appeared in a double cameo.
