The Great , the series about Catherine the Great starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult , is preparing to return with the third season. Now Hulu has revealed the date of the premiere: May 12th. We don’t know for now where the new season will arrive in Italy, given the closure of STARZPLAY / Liosgate +, which hosted it, in our country. It is likely that we will see it on Disney + , but for now we have no confirmation.
The plot of season 3
In the new season, Caterina and Pietro try to make their marriage work after a series of seemingly insurmountable problems. In fact, Pietro witnessed his attempted murder at the hands of Caterina, who also imprisoned all of her friends. Pietro was also bored to death in his life as consort of the queen, and so he dedicated himself to being a father, hunting and cooking. But all of these activities aren’t enough to fill the void, especially when her late father ( Jason Isaacs) begins to appear to him in a series of visions in which he confronts him with his failure as a son of Peter the Great. Catherine begins to make a name for herself outside Russia’s borders and, inspired by a visit from the American ambassador, she organizes a conference where peasants, nobles and merchants will have their say in developing a new Russia. You will also learn that even the best political leaders have to compromise in order to move forward.
