Bittersweet news for all fans of The Handmaid’s Tale . Hulu has in fact renewed the series for a sixth season, which will also be the last.

Telling the story of Margaret Atwood’s groundbreaking novel, and her chilling world, was a true honor. We are thrilled to be able to offer the public a sixth and final season. We are grateful to Hulu and MGM for allowing us to tell this story, which sadly has remained topical throughout its run. And we are amazed at the support given to us by the fans, without them this would never have happened.
Season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale will make its US debut on September 14, in Italy it will be available on TIMVISION .
In the new episodes, June will face the consequences of killing Commander Waterford as she struggles to redefine her identity and purpose. Widow Serena attempts to improve her image in Toronto as Gilead’s influence seeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Aunt Lydia as she tries to reform Gilead and rise to power. June, Luke and Moira fight Gilead from afar as they continue their mission to rescue little Hannah and reunite with her.
Recall that Alexis Bledel will not return in the fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale . The actress, who played Emily / Ofglen in the series based on Margaret Atwood ‘s novel, has in fact decided to leave the series. HERE you will find more information.
