Season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel arrives on Prime Video today.

As many of you may have noticed, for this new season the platform has decided not to release all the episodes in a single solution, opting for another formula: two new episodes coming out every Friday for four weeks.

What the series is about

Set in New York in the late 1950s, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel tells the story of Midge Maisels ( Rachel Brosnahan ), a woman who lives as she always dreamed of, between her husband, children and elegant Yom Kippur dinners in their house on the Upper West Side. But all of a sudden she is forced to discover her talents, going from housewife to cabaret actress, a quirk for everyone but not for her.

Season 4

Season 4 is set in 1960 and there is an air of change. Trying to refine her show, Midge finds a gig that allows her to have carte blanche in her creativity. But the commitment he puts of her into her art – and the time he devotes to her – creates a rift between her, her family and friends.

The cast

The cast also includes Michael Zegen (Joel Maisel), Alex Borstein (Susie Myerson), Tony Shalhoub (Abe Weissman), Marin Hinkle (Rose Weissman).
They will all return for this new season and with them there will be some new entries, specifically Milo Ventimiglia and Kelly Bishop , both seen in Una mamma per friend . It is no coincidence if we consider that the series was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino , the names behind Gilmore Girls .
The cast will also find John Waters and Jason Alexander .

The summary

To get you prepared for the new episodes, here’s a helpful rundown.

The series will end with season 5

It has already been confirmed that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will return to the platform with a fifth season, which will also be the last.
As stated by Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon content:

Amy, Dan and the fantastic Mrs. Maisel have traced an unprecedented path, taking the stories we tell about women to the next level, challenging the conventions of our industry and changing the entertainment landscape in a decisive way thanks to a unique narrative. All the awards raised confirm Maisel’s legacy in many ways, but the ones that will last the longest are the characters Amy created and the joyful, bright and unique world she brought to life with Dan. This series represented a lot for Prime Video and the effects of its success will last long after the final season.
