Apple also says goodbye to the touch bar on these Macs that start at $ 1,999.
Apple revamped its line of portable Mac with a new MacBook Pro that comes in 14 “and 16” models.
The new MacBook Pro has a design breakthrough: finally returning some ports (HDMI, SD card reader, and MagSafe for charging) to users, and eliminating the not-so-popular Touch Bar.
The design also highlights a ‘notch’ or notch at the top of the screen, in the style of the iPhone . It houses a 1080p camera, enhanced with computer video to provide a better image.
The display receives a great improvement with the introduction of ProMotion , which goes up to 120Hz. Apple calls the display a “Liquid Retina XDR.”
Audio is also enhanced with a six-speaker system on the 14 ”and 16” models. These laptops also have Spatial Audio.
Performance
Apple says that its jump to the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in the new MacBook Pro leaves far behind what is seen in CPU with the Intel models and the AMD GPUs in previous models.
Autonomy also improves. The 14 “model provides 17 hours of video playback, while the 16” reaches 21 hours, according to Apple .
Users will be able to configure the new MacBook Pros with up to 64GB of RAM and 8TB of storage. Of course, these are features soldered onto the device, so they cannot be expanded in the future.
Price and availability
Apple’s innovation doesn’t come cheap. The new 14 ” MacBook Pro starts at $ 1,999 with an 8-core CPU, 14-core GPU, 16GB of unified RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage.
