After the posters dedicated to the characters , a new clip of The Northman , third film by the talented Robert Eggers after The VVitch and The Lighthouse , leaks online .
Alexander Skarsgård plays Amleth in this adaptation of the famous Scandinavian myth, told by Saxo Grammaticus in his Gesta Danorum and then reprized by Shakespeare in the famous tragedy.
In the clip, Amleth declares that he wants to avenge his father King Aurvandil War-Raven ( Ethan Hawke ), who was killed by his uncle Fjölnir ( Claes Bang ) when the protagonist was still a child. Fjölnir then married Queen Gudrún ( Nicole Kidman ), mother of Amleth.
In the scene she too can be glimpsed, along with Olga of the Birch Forest ( Anya Taylor-Joy ), who will help the hero in her adventure.
The Northman – which is shaping up to be”the most accurate Viking movie ever made”- is receiving much praise, includingthat of Edgar Wright . The release is expected onApril 21in Italian cinemas.
