A sequel to The Nun was announced during CinemaCon , but no other details about the film were released.
Producer James Wan has thought about it now : with a post on Instagram, Wan has revealed that The Nun 2 will be directed by Michael Chaves , a director who has already worked in the Conjuring Universe , having directed La Llorona – The tears of evil and The Conjuring – By order of the devil . Wan also confirmed that star Bonnie Aarons will reprise the role of the evil nun, alter ego of the demon Valak.

Akela Cooper , screenwriter of Malignant , wrote The Nun 2 . For now we don’t know if the sequel will keep the historical setting of the first or will move to the present day. All that remains is to wait: we will keep you updated.
The Nun had certainly not been a success among critics, but instead it had received a great response, grossing 365 million dollars worldwide starting from a budget of 22. It is not surprising that, even if in the meantime the Conjuring Universe project ran aground, Warner has this sequel in the works. We will keep you posted.
