THE OLD GUARD 2: UMA THURMAN AND HENRY GOLDING IN THE CAST

Uma Thurman and Henry Golding ( Snake Eyes ) have joined the cast of The Old Guard 2.

The sequel to the film with Charlize Theron produced by Netflix and Skydance. The two will join the stars of the first film: in addition to Charlize Theron, we will see KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The project was first announced in August last year, but then there were no other news. It was revealed at the time that Victoria Mahoney, a television director who also served as the second unit director of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, would replace Gina Prince-Bythewood behind the camera.

The Old Guard, based on a comic by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández, was released in July 2020, in full pandemic, with great success, with 186 million hours of viewing in the first 28 days. There are no details on the plot of the sequel for now.

Greg Rucka will return to write the sequel. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce the film for Skydance; Theron, Beth Kono and AJ Dix for Denver and Delilah and Marc Evans for Marc Evans Productions. Rucka will also serve as executive producer.

The plot of The Old Guard

For centuries, the mortal world has been protected by an underground group led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron). Inside there are mercenaries who are very close to each other and who strangely cannot die. During an urgent mission, the extraordinary abilities of the squad members suddenly become public. Now it’s up to Andy and the latest arrival Nile (KiKi Layne) to help the team avert the danger posed by those who, at any price, intend to replicate and economically exploit this gift.
