Amazon has unveiled the first images of The Power , a series based on the book of the same name by Naomi Alderman , known in Italy as Electric Girls .
The release is expected for next March on Prime Video .
The excellent novel by the English writer imagines a world where the balance of power between male and female is suddenly reversed, as girls and adolescents develop an organ that allows them to emit powerful electric shocks. Just as men have always done, many women are starting to abuse their power.
The world of The Power matches ours except for one little freak of nature. Suddenly, and without warning, teenage girls develop the power to electrocute others at will. The Power follows a cast of incredible characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as The Power evolves from a mild tingling in the collarbones of teenage girls to a total upheaval in the balance of power around the world.
The showrunner is Raelle Tucker ( True Blood ), while the production is handled by Sister ( Chernobyl ). You can see the images below.
