Netflix has released the official trailer for The Power of the Dog , the new film from Academy Award winner Jane Campion , arriving on the streaming platform on December 1st.
The cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee .
The plot
The film is based on the novel The Power of the Dog by Thomas Savage . The story centers on a pair of wealthy Montana brothers, Phil (Cumberbatch) and George Burbank (Plemons), two sides of the same coin. Phil is as graceful and brilliant as he is cruel, while George is stubborn, fussy but kind. Together they own a huge ranch overlooking the valley. A place where men are still men, and the 20th Century is kept at a distance. When George secretly marries widow Rose (Dunst), Phil refuses to accept him and decides to do anything to destroy her. Even pitting them against the effeminate son Peter.
