But now another work of him will reach the big screen: it is Mary Rose (1920), which will be adapted into the supernatural thriller The Island Between Tides .

Paloma Kwiatkowski ( Riot Girls ), Gotham stars Donal Logue and David Mazouz , Camille Sullivan ( Big Sky ) and Adam Beach ( Windtalkers ) make up the cast. Filming has already started in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada. Here is the first image.

The plot

The story takes place on the pristine coast of Alaska, where a girl, Lily (Kwiatkowski), follows a mysterious tune to a remote tidal island. When she returns to dry land during the next low tide, she discovers that decades have passed.

The Island Between Tides is written, produced and directed by Andrew Holmes ( Dolph ) and Austin Andrews ( Julie and the Phantoms ). The film is produced by Flicker Theory, Famous Red Car, and Mad Samurai Productions. Producers Matthew Cervi and Josh Huculia , while Darren Benning, James Tocher, Michael Shepard and Adam Scorgie serve as executive producers.

This is Mary Rose ‘s first adaptation to cinema, but Barrie’s work is closely linked to one of the greats of the seventh art: Alfred Hitchcock . The legendary director saw a theatrical version of it in the 1920s and bought the rights to the book in the 1960s from Paramount, selecting Tippi Hedren for the role of Mary Rose . Universal, however, vetoed the production for fear of a flop. Before he died, Hitchcock told his biographer that one of his biggest regrets was that he was unable to make Mary Rose . Later, the rights to the work were acquired by Tippi Hedren’s daughter, Melanie Griffith , along with her then husband.Antonio Banderas in the early 2000s. But even that version never saw the light.
