As we know, Henry Cavill will leave The Witcher , the series inspired by the fantasy saga of Andrzej Sapkowski , after the third season.
In his place we will find Liam Hemsworth , who starting from season 4 will be the face of Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series .
Either way, series showrunner Lauren Hissrich has ensured that Cavill will treat fans to a particularly epic exit. Interviewed by EW , Hissrich said:
Season 3 is the closest thing to a faithful adaptation of the novels we’ve ever done. Of course you can’t fit every single page, but “Times of War” (the second novel in the Geralt of Rivia Saga) has given us so many action-packed events, important and character-defining moments, great revelations regarding a fearsome villain. So much so that we’ve managed to really stay true to the books.
Regarding Henry Cavill ‘s exit , he added:
The big change for Geralt lies in not remaining neutral and being willing to do anything to reach Ciri. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the most heroic exit we could have, even if it wasn’t written to be one. Geralt has a new mission in mind when we return to him in Season 4, it’s a slightly different Geralt than we’ve come to expect.
