Universal Pictures has released a new featurette for Knock on the Door , with contributions from director M.
Night Shyamalan and star Dave Bautista. The film, we recall, has been successfully in Italian cinemas since February 2nd.
Inspired by Paul Tremblay ‘s novel House at the End of the World , the filmmaker builds an apocalyptic nightmare confined within the walls of a cabin, where four mysterious invaders ask a family to make an impossible choice to avoid the end of the world. In the featurette, Dave Bautista , Rupert Grint , Nikki Amuka-Bird and Shyamalan himself talk about the film, its themes and its disturbing aspects.
While vacationing at a secluded cabin, a little girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand the family make an unthinkable choice to avoid the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what to believe before all is lost.
Ben Aldridge and Jonathan Groff play the couple, while Kristen Cui plays their daughter Wen .
The release is expected for next February 2 in Italian cinemas.
The synopsis of the novel
Eric, Andrew and their darling seven-year-old daughter, Wen, are spending a vacation in an isolated cottage in the New Hampshire woods, on the shore of a lake, away from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life, without the Internet and cell phones : a corner of paradise where silence and serenity reign. But on a sunny morning the dream turns into a nightmare when four strangers emerge from the woods. Leonard, a gigantic man with gentle manners and a warm smile, and his three companions wield creepy and scary weapons and are there to bring an even more creepy and scary message to Eric, Andrew and Wen. As the little family barricades themselves in the house looking for a way to call for help, it becomes increasingly clear that the four will not leave until they get what they are there for. an impossible choice, a terrible sacrifice. In the hours that follow, in a crescendo of apocalyptic omens, paranoia, madness, horror and blood rituals, the little house at the end of the world becomes the heart of the universe, the place where the fate of a family will be decided and, perhaps of all humanity.
