Technical problems and content would be the main problems for the future of Twitter , according to Insider Intelligence.
witter 2.0 , the new incarnation of the social network under Elon Musk , could mean the loss of tens of millions of users.
An Insider Intelligence forecast indicates that Twitter ‘s user base will shrink in 2023 and 2024.
The report estimates that the social network will lose 3.9% of users in 2023 and 5.1% in 2024, all this adding up to just over 30 million fewer users.
“Users will start to leave the platform next year as frustration grows with technical problems and the proliferation of hate speech or other unpleasant content,” says analyst Jasmine Enberg.
Twitter has less than half the employees that maintained the platform before the arrival of Elon Musk , who has also changed the social network’s moderation policies.
It will also affect revenue
In March of this year, Insider Intelligence projections were for Twitter ‘s ad revenue growth in double digits.
With the new administration, forecasts have been reset to “basically zero” for growth in this area.
The end of Twitter?
Enberg indicated that his projections are based on the “volatile conditions” that Twitter is experiencing, but there is a possibility that it will recover if it manages to reconcile its technology with content moderation.
