With less than two weeks left until the release of Tyler Rake 2 on Netflix, and now star Chris Hemsworth has revealed a detail that until now had been kept under wraps: Idris Elba will also be in the cast .
In a new teaser trailer posted by the star on Instagram, we see Elba face-to-face with Rake in the last scene.

“Nice to have Idris Elba join Tyler Rake ‘s team ,” Chris Hemsworth wrote commenting on the teaser. The two actors have already worked together in the Thor saga , where Idris Elba played Heimdall. The Tyler Rake saga shares several key creatives with the Marvel films: Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeeley , screenwriters of the Avengers , are executive producers along with the Russo Brothers , while Joe Russo is the screenwriter. Finally, director Sam Hargrave is a stuntman who has served as stunt coordinator and stunt double for Chris Evans in the MCU films.
Chris Hemsworth returns to play the title role in the sequel to the blockbuster Netflix action film TYLER RAKE . After barely surviving the events of the first film, undercover Australian mercenary Rake is charged with another lethal mission: to rescue the abused family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
In addition to Hemsworth and Golshifteh Farahani , who reprises his role from the first film, the cast also includes Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili .
Based on the graphic novel Ciudad written by Anthony and Joe Russo with Ande Parks , and illustrated by Fernando León González , the film was estimated to have been viewed by 90 million viewers in its first month of launch on Netflix . It became the platform’s most-watched film in 2020.
