Clara Rugaard, Jamie Ward, Rebel Wilson , Rupert Everett , Jason Isaacs and Derek Jacobi will star in Verona.
A pop musical inspired by the true story that in turn inspired William Shakespeare ‘s Romeo and Juliet . The release is scheduled for Christmas.
The film, which will be the first in a trilogy, is directed by Timothy Scott Bogart . The director told Deadline :
We intend to tell the greatest love story of all time, to the rhythm of the music of our time. But Shakespeare only told part of that extraordinary story, whose events changed the course of history!
The rest of the cast includes Ferdia Walsh-Peelo ( Coda, Sing Street ), Rupert Graves ( Sherlock ), Dan Fogler ( Fantastic Beasts, The Walking Dead ), and songwriters Tayla Parx and Ledisi . The music will be written by Evan Bogart , a Grammy – winning composer who has collaborated with Beyoncé and Rihanna . Dante Ferretti will take care of the sets.
Verona is produced by Bogart, Jessica Martins and Chris Torto through their Hero Entertainment Partners. Laurence Mark and Gary A. Randall are executive producers.

Filming is taking place in our country and, last November, the production also shot in Verona.
