Europa Clipper is scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida in October 2024, taking six years to reach its destination. As it orbits Jupiter and makes multiple flybys of Europa , a suite of science instruments will collect data on the moon’s underground ocean, ice crust, and atmosphere.
The main objective of the mission is to discover if there is anywhere below the surface of Europ a that could support life. You’ll also seek to understand the nature of the ice sheet and the ocean beneath it , as well as learn more about the satellite’s composition and geology.

These types of initiatives are not new.
NASA has already done the same with its first Artemis mission , as well as the mission to Mars called Perseverance.
Although there is certainly no life outside of our Earth, scientists believe that these types of initiatives are interesting so that people can be interested in science and, who knows, in the future the humans of tomorrow will be able to pick up and physically see their name on these planets.
