Warner Bros. Discovery renounces the DC FanDome.
The online event launched during the pandemic, which over the course of two years presented to fans the major projects of the major focused on the DC Comics universe .
According to Deadline , the 2022 edition has been canceled (but that was pretty obvious, as no announcements had yet been made) and it seems that Warner is not interested in moving forward, aiming directly at face-to-face events like Comic-Con. San Diego, officially restarted this year.
As stated by a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery :
With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is thrilled to be able to interact live with fans at various conventions around the world. For this reason we are not planning a DC FanDome 2022.
Upcoming DC projects
It should also be pointed out that, outside of Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson , all the major DC movie projects, such as Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods , they have been postponed to 2023. Others, like Batgirl , have been directly canceled causing a real media case .
Understandably, then, that Warner decided not to have a DC FanDome in 2022.
