Variety reports that HBO Max is developing an IT prequel series , entitled Welcome to Derry.
The story will start in the 1960s, and will lead to the events of Andrés Muschietti ‘s first film .
It seems that he will also tell the origins of the Pennywise clown .
Muschietti himself , director of IT and IT CHAPTER TWO , will be the executive producer along with Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs . The story of the show was conceived by the latter together with the Argentine director, who could direct the first episode if HBO Max decides to order the series. Fuchs will instead be the screenwriter.
