WhatsApp brings two-step verification to Web and Desktop versions.
WhatsApp continues to implement standards for the protection of chats in its multiplatform version , and one of the elements that has been slow to arrive is two-step verification. Since the implementation of an encrypted system independent of the smartphone, it was necessary to include a “key” that would make it difficult to access our conversations from other devices. Now, this verification system reaches the Web and the desktop.
According to WABetaInfo , a site specializing in news associated with the WhatsApp tool in the testing phase, WhatsApp has been testing an additional modality upon entry. When you log in with your WhatsApp account and after entering the random six-digit code, the system will ask for the personal PIN. This system will also reach WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop.
WhatsApp: two-step verification will be optional
This new condition can be enabled or disabled from the new tab that WhatsApp will assign in the phone application and in the desktop or web interface. This addition will be ideal when, for some reason, you lose your phone and you have to enter your chat, but you don’t remember your personal PIN. Remember that you can also do it by sending a recovery link to the email associated with the account, but with this it will be a little easier to access.
At the moment, this option is in the testing phase and is not available for end users or Beta, although it should reach users of all platforms in the following months.
