On WhatsApp . Formatting a text allows us to highlight important ideas, main words, and give our text a better appearance. This text formatting functionality that is italic, bold, strikethrough, and monospaced is available on both web and mobile. However, and as additional information, you should know that once used, you will not be able to deactivate these functions.
How to format text in WhatsApp
To use it, use an underscore before and after the text as follows: _texto_
To make it bold, include an asterisk before and after the text like this: *text*
To place a strikethrough text , with a tilde before and after the text to achieve this effect: ~text~
For monospacing, type three backticks before and after the text, and that way you’ll modify the spacing: “`text“`
This type of command allows us to have texts with a refined appearance, since we know there are still users who send texts with a careful style, complying with the spelling rules that are in disuse in chats and social networks.
Android and iOS devices also have shortcuts that simplify the entire process of writing commands.
- Android: Tap the text you’ve typed and a floating box will appear, allowing you to choose Bold, Italic, or More. Select More to choose Strikethrough or Monospace.
- iPhone: Tap the entered text, a floating box will appear with > Select or Select all > B_I_ U . Then, choose the options, either Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, or Monospaced.
