WhatsApp has released an update to allow users to delete messages up to 60 hours after they are sent.

The tool is vastly improved from its previous limit, of which it was only 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds .

“Did you rethink your message? Now you will have a little more than two days to delete the messages from your chat after sending them, “says the app.

more time to think

WhatsApp has been expanding this tool since it launched in 2017.

Initially, the user only had a few minutes to delete the message, but then it would extend up to the hour.

Possibly, 60 hours is not enough if we think that its rival, Telegram , has no limits to delete a message. Apple , with iMessage , is taking the opposite path, reducing the limits to just two minutes to rethink this action.

WhatsApp is renewed

WhatsApp is also introducing new privacy options to its app, including blocking screenshots for “single view messages” and the ability to make a group silent.

“New privacy features are coming to WhatsApp: leave group chats without notifying everyone, control who can see when you’re online, and prevent screenshots on single-view messages. We’ll continue to create new ways to protect your messages. ” and keep them as private and secure as face-to-face conversations , ” Mark Zuckerberg said in an official statement.
