WhatsApp is testing a payments section criptomonedas with a small number of users in the United States .
WhatsApp is adding a cryptocurrency payments featurefor a limited group of users in the United States . The instant messaging platform is integrating with Novi , a digital wallet owned by Meta (formerly Facebook).
This pilot program allows WhatsApp users to send and receive money “instantly, securely and without fees” using the stable digital currency Paxos Dollar (USPD), whose value is pegged to the US dollar.
The way to send is similar to sending a file in a conversation. The user presses the “+” icon and then presses Payment in the menu.
There’s a new way to try the @Novi digital wallet. Starting today, a limited number of people in the US will be able to send and receive money using Novi on @WhatsApp, making sending money to family and friends as easy as sending a message. 💸💬 pic.twitter.com/dGz3lejri7

Crypto payments on WhatsApp
There will be no limit on the number of times you can send money through the Novi system and its integration with WhatsApp . Also, there are no fees associated with maintaining a balance in a Novi account or withdrawing it to a bank account.
Stephane Kasriel, Novi’s incoming director , called the pilot an “entry point” in a Twitter post , adding that the company will seek to expand after receiving feedback from the first users to test crypto payments on WhatsApp .
