WhatsApp function that allows you to archive conversations that are not relevant.
WhatsApp brings us this very useful function to maintain a temporary order of the chat room.
If you have a conversation that is not usually so important or you simply want to hide it, it should be noted that once archived they stay that way until you unarchive it when you decide .
In this note we will address the steps to follow to manage this functionality correctly.
Archive an individual or group chat
- Sign in to WhatsApp.
- Go to the chat room.
- Press for a few seconds the chat to be archived.
- Several options will appear at the top such as Fix, Delete, Notify and Archive.
- Select Archive, this icon is identified as a folder with a down arrow.
- You can archive individual and group chats.
- Select Archive all chats.
Additional note
When you enter the chat room, the archived folder will appear at the top, when entering it it will show the number of archived chats and if there were unread messages.
Unarchive an individual or group chat
- Enter the chat room.
- The archived chats folder will appear at the top, select it.
- Choose the chats to unarchive.
- Hold down.
- The Delete and Unarchive options will appear at the top.
- Choose unarchive which is located next to the Delete icon.
- The chat will be unarchived.
- He appears again in the chat room.
Archive Settings
- Enter the chat room.
- Enter the folder of archived chats.
- Select the 3 dots at the top right.
- Archive settings.
- Enable or disable the command, keep chats archived when you receive a new message.
Additional note
- In the case of group chats, you will not be able to receive notifications unless someone tags you or answers a direct message that has been written.
- Using this feature does not back up or delete the chat.
