WhatsApp will allow you to buy fruits and vegetables in India

Meta is teaming up with an e-commerce company to offer grocery shopping in India via WhatsApp .

WhatsApp is no longer the center where you only talk. Now, Meta has announced that it will allow its users in India to buy fruits and vegetables through the app.

Thanks to an alliance with the companies Reliance Retail and Jio Platforms, Meta will expand this tool that began to be tested two years ago in a very small group of people.

WhatsApp and e-commerce

Although WhatsApp already allows you to contact companies and make purchases, until now it had not been done directly and officially in sync.

Customers in India will be able to browse JioMart’s entire grocery catalog on WhatsApp , add items to cart and make payments without ever leaving the instant messaging service.

“Excited to launch our partnership with JioMart in India. This is our first end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp – people can now shop for groceries from JioMart directly in a chat. Business messaging is an area with real momentum and chat-based experiences like this will be the way people and businesses communicate for years to come,” Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said in a statement.
