WhatsApp is already working to implement the option to pin messages in chats, just like it works in its rival app Telegram .
WhatsApp , the instant messaging application owned by Meta , is constantly updating itself with new functions or tools that improve its proposal in order to be able to match its rivals. Despite being the app par excellence as far as our territory is concerned, the truth is that it still lacks certain features that its main competitors already have and the next one that it is specifically preparing is proof of this.
The latest feature that the WhatsApp development team is working on is pinned messages. Using this tool, users will be able to choose a message that they have sent to another contact and will be able to pin it so that it is always visible to the participants in the conversation. This option has been available on Telegram for many years , which is probably the closest competitor to the Meta app .
Message pinning approaches WhatsApp
As the WABetaInfo portal points out , the developers have already included this function in the 2.23.3.17 update of the Beta version of WhatsApp Business for Android . As can be seen in the shared screenshot, one of the chat participants will be able to choose a message that she wants to always keep present and, then, she only has to choose the respective option to anchor it to the top of said window.
This option will be especially useful in group conversations as it will help keep the focus on an important topic that would otherwise be lost to more recent messages. Of course, as we mentioned before, this feature has been available on Telegram for some time, and on this platform, you can even pin multiple messages from the same conversation.
WhatsApp continues to work on more features
Although the WABetaInfo finding makes it clear that the team behind the application is already working on pinned messages for group chats and conversations, the truth is that an exact date for the arrival of this function to the conventional client has not yet been revealed. WhatsApp or its Business version . It seems that users will still have to wait a little longer to enjoy it.
Additionally, the company is developing a plethora of new features that it will progressively add to WhatsApp . These include the creation of shortcuts to call contacts through the app from the main screen of the mobile, an option to keep the photos in their original quality and a renewed interface for your camera .
