WhatsApp will modify the deletion of messages by mistake

If you deleted a message just for yourself by mistake, WhatsApp  will allow you to reverse your action with its new feature so you can delete it for everyone.

WhatsApp  continues to integrate features to improve the experience of its users on its platform. Some time ago, Meta ‘s instant messaging applicationintegrated the possibility of deleting a message for both the sender and the receiver or, in the case of group chats, for all users. Now, to improve this option, the app will also allow you to restore a deleted message to the same user who sent it.

If for some reason a user made a mistake when deleting a message and chose the “delete for me” option instead of “delete for everyone”, the message disappeared for the sender, but not for the rest of the users and, incidentally, prevented him from remedying his mistake, causing embarrassing situations.

Now, thanks to this new function, the user will be able to restore the deleted message for himself and will be able to choose the other option to permanently delete it for all the users who received it.

It should be noted that the development of this function does not apply to messages “deleted for everyone”, so these continue to disappear completely from the application once they have been deleted. However, there is always the possibility that WhatsApp could work on one of these features in the future.

How does restoring messages on WhatsApp work?

As indicated by the WABetaInfo portal , if a user chooses to “delete for me” in a message, immediately, a bar will appear at the bottom of the screen informing about this attempt and, to its right, you can see the option “undo ” or “undo”.

The person who sent the message has a few seconds to make amends before the message disappears completely. After the deadline, the pop-up will be removed and can no longer be displayed again.

For now, the function is only present in the Beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and Android, so we will still have to wait for it to reach the conventional client of the application through a new update.

New features coming to WhatsApp

In addition to the aforementioned, WhatsApp already has a plethora of new features in development that are only present in its Beta version for now, but that will soon reach the service available to the public.

Among the most outstanding are the possibility of hiding our telephone number when we communicate with business or company accounts, leaving a group silently or deactivating screenshots in our chats .
