The constant improvements and new features in WhatsApp make the app stop supporting some cell phones.
This 2021, more phones will no longer be able to use the massive messaging app. We tell you what they are.
Android affected
WhatsApp will require Android 4.1 ( Jelly Bean ) from November 1, 2021, leaving cell phones with Android 4.0.4 ( Ice Cream Sandwich ) without support, it said on its website.
Most affected by this change are cell phones launched in 2011. The Samsung Galaxy S (the first), HTC Thunderbolt, Motorola Droid X, and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.
And what about iPhones?
Regarding the iPhone, WhatsApp requires iOS 10 or a later version. This means that WhatsApp officially drops support for the iPhone 4S.
WhatsApp also specifies that it does not prohibit jailbroken iPhones, but it will not support users with this modification who report problems in the use of their devices.
