WhatsApp is working on new features for users and is now taking inspiration from experiences offered by platforms like Discord .

The messaging service is working on a feature called ‘audio chats’ where it will allow users to join a chat at any time.

that’s how it will work

The report comes from WaBetaInfo , an important medium that knows the news of the beta of the application on the different platforms.

These voice groups will be available so that users can join the conversation when they want and leave when they feel like it.

This function will be included in the text chat groups: there will be an internal button from which users can join and start talking. This is not a replacement for group calls, but rather another alternative.

Like Discord

Gamers have this concept more common thanks to a successful platform: Discord .

In this app, users create channels that users can enter at any time of the day to chat, especially for when playing games online. Its popularity is very high and even services like Midjourney use this platform for their development.

On the other hand, it is unknown when this audio chat feature will come to WhatsApp . We will have to wait days or weeks to know its progress and be able to officially test it.
