Patrick Stewart once again played Professor Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
But he could return in some other Marvel Cinematic Universe project , such as Deadpool 3 : not surprisingly, he has been told to remain “on standby” waiting to know something more, as ComicBook.com reports . Well, ET Online asked him if Ian McKellen had anything to say about him returning as Xavier , and Stewart said yes.
“It actually went really well,” the actor said, speaking of his colleague and friend’s reaction. “He said something like that [« Hey, I would have done it too! »], It’s true. But we’re not done, Sir Ian and I. We…we have plans.”
Obviously Stewart is not necessarily referring to their roles in the X-Men saga , but the timing is suspicious at the very least. Rumor has it that Deadpool 3 will be a multiverse adventure that will bring Wade Wilson ( Ryan Reynolds ) and Wolverine ( Hugh Jackman ) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe , so it’s possible they’ll meet Xavier and Magneto along the way. The Multiverse Saga itself involves parallel worlds and the variants of many characters: it wouldn’t be so absurd, in short, if Ian MacKellen returned to wear the mantle ofMagneto , if only for a cameo somewhere.
Directed by Shawn Levy , who previously directed Reynolds in Free Guy and The Adam Project . The US theatrical release is expected on November 8, 2024 .

Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy themselves will be producers of Deadpool 3 along with Kevin Feige , president of Marvel Studios .
The cast
For now, the only actors given for certain are Ryan Reynolds , Hugh Jackman and Emma Corrin (who will be the antagonist). There has also been talk of Owen Wilson (aka Mobius M. Mobius ), but there is no confirmation.
The screenplay
Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will return to write the script, which was first drafted by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin .
