It is not a secret that Xiaomi is not only limited to cell phones .
The Chinese company has a wide variety of products, including a robot dog called Cyberdog .
This curious gadget only had 1,000 units produced, which were sold to users in China who registered for a raffle.
The Cyberdog was in Lima and NiusGeek got to know him up close.
It is not necessarily Spot
The Xiaomi Cyberdog was sold for 9,999 yuan, equivalent to almost US$1,500 in exchange. This is a fraction of Spot robots , which can be purchased for a whopping $75K.
Xiaomi ‘s robot is still in an experimental phase, but it is promising that it will be open sourced to suit its owner.
For now, the Cyberdog can carry out surveillance tasks, assist older adults and carry up to 3 kilos.
José Alberto Pérez, IoT product manager at Xiaomi Peru explains that the experimental project is aimed at robotic engineers, fans of the brand and enthusiasts.
