YouTube wants you to start earning money with fewer requirements on its platform

YouTube is lowering the barrier of requirements for a content creator to enter its monetization program.

YouTube has relaxed its requirements for users to apply for the YouTube Partner Program ( YPP ), which will now allow users who have reached 500 subscribers and have posted at least three times in the last 90 days.

The YPP allows content creators to access different resources and monetization features on the platform for their videos and Shorts , as well as contact the company’s Creator Support team.

More accessible for new users

Until now, in order to participate in this program, one thousand subscribers and 4 thousand valid public viewing hours in the last 12 months or one thousand subscribers and 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days were needed, as indicated by the company on its website.

YouTube , however, has now announced that it has relaxed the requirements to access YPP and that as of this Friday eligible creators will be able to apply once they have reached the threshold of 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the last 90 days and 3,000 viewing hours in the last year.

This, in the case of videos. For Shorts, YouTube forces new members of this program to register three million views in the last three months.

How can you get money?

YouTube has commented that these new partners will unlock access to fan financing features, such as channel affiliation, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks or the ability to promote their content on YouTube Shopping, among others.

The platform has also announced that, for the moment, it has begun to implement this new level for creators in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea.
